Green First
Thousand Acres will retain the quiet residential character that is the signature of its unique heritage. Having the largest wetlands in the Deep Creek area , conservation easements are already in place preserving nearly 20 percent of green space within each planned phase of development. The golf course will also be deeded in perpetuity as green space. This provides not only a visual green cover, but also allows for plenty of hiking, biking and cross-country ski trails. This helps to maintain this quality in the way of life for Thousand Acres residents who seek out this quiet, picturesque portion of the lake for their homes and vacation playgrounds.
Living on a golf community
Thousand Acres offers one of the most unique and entertaining golfing experiences in Deep Creek, Maryland. Designed and shaped by Craig Schreiner and Bob Holcomb, they use the environment to create course bunkers, green surrounds, fairway site lines, select water features, and tee complexes that result in an entirely new golf experience that is both visually stunning and extremely fun to play for golfers of all skill levels.

Deep Creek Lake is Maryland's largest freshwater lake covering 3,900 acres and boasting 65 miles of shoreline. The average depth of Deep Creek Lake is 25 feet with a maximum depth of 75 feet. Whether you watching the sun come up over the lake before an early tee time or playing a round of golf as the sun sets - you’ll never miss out on the breathtaking views.
Hike the trails
Enjoy an active social calendar in this warm and welcoming lakefront community. And of course, hike the miles of trails surrounding the Deep Creek Lake property. See if you can find the many wildlife species that make our course their home: hawks, ducks, geese, black bears or white tail deer just to name a few.

Used the driving range just to get some swings in with the driver. We’ll maintained and they had multiple holes on the field to aim for. They just finished the developing the back of the course so can’t wait to get back in the spring for a full round! Beautiful landscape to play on too.

I am hesitant to post this review because as others have said, this is a hidden gem! Great course, friendly pro shop staff, beautiful views and wildlife. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in excellent shape. And I had 2 jr golfers who were met with encouragement to play well and keep playing. Great course all around. Keep it up! Will definitely be back.
